3 Idiots

3 idiots is the biggest hit in bollywood but controversy around it has been even bigger not because it got more attention or time on news channel but because it raised a fundamental question. The question is how long will writers remain a suffering class in bollywood. Poor chetan Bhagat had to apologize in the end to end the controversy. He probably decided to end it not because he suddenly realized his mistake or something but because he understood that there is no point. The way Vidhu vinod chopra reacted on questions about bhagat's allegations showed his frustrations as if a child would react when caught cheating. A typical response of child in that situation would be to somehow try to show that whatever he did was not illegal. the book that he was using was just lying there and he does not know where it came from. Similarly chopra acted as if it was not he but bhagat who copied his story. the worst part of this whole episode was how a legend, the most professional person in film industry decided to jump in the fray and defended chopra but obviously being a professional he didn't forget to mention that he has not yet read the novel. Amir khan is from that class of people who believe that it is enough for them to just utter whatever they feel like and rules will change accordingly. he had the guts to question the morality of a writter who has written many bestsellers and is a regular writer of articles in national dailies. Chetan bhagat is a writter who has never written even a single line of controversy in his novels. He is perhaps even better than most people in Bollywood in selling the same stuff in form of novels that bollywood tries to make movies on. It is his this quality bollywood wanted to leverage on. but whatever the controversy may end into both parties ended up being happy as it boosted both the sale of novel as well as box office collection of 3 Idiots.

Whom does Govt. actually provide security to???

IPL has gone abroad thanks to what else but politics. The fact that IPL was much more accommodating than the govt. expected really shocked the government. Lalit Modi had answers for every hurdle that govt. tried to put and ultimately the decision was taken as they usually are in india ie. at a political level. Now, why i blame political class for IPL going out of India is due to a very basic logic. All that i want to know is, what exactly does government mean when they say that security forces will be busy during election. What will security forces be busy in? I guess they will be busy in providing security to politicians and nothing else. Because if this was not true why else a state will decline to hold matches on a day when by default security on that day is supposed to be very tight due to election. If say, we have elections in Delhi on 25 of April then i would suppose that security in Delhi on 25 is supposed to be very tight irrespective of whether there is a IPL match or not and if thats the case then why is security a issue at all. So if we assume that no security wont be there that would mean that security forces will be busy in providing security to only rallies and to those places where political leadership is present. Such a situation means that every school, college and market is actually unsafe during election. Actually i believe security was never an issue and all that the govt. is worried about is politics. I am sure govt. fears that if IPL is allowed some political party will itself try to create security related problems and put the blame on the govt. and hence gain political mileage out of it. We all know how low politics in India can get. Thats the only reason for govt. to be so worried.

INDIAN DEMOCRACY:A Family Drama!!!!!!!

Every state party in India started on a very different and basic ideology which concerned a particular group in India.Leaders like Mulayam singh in UP,Lalu in Bihar,Karunanidhi in Tamilnadu and so many other decided to struggle for rights of people who wanted to be heard in a country where they were very different from many other communities in their needs as well as aspirations. This was a victory for Democracy in India. These were the leaders who rose in spite of their surname and not merely because it.If that was a victory for democracy today democracy in India is in shambles.Democracy here faces a very different challenge.India has not had a leader for last so many years. Those who believe that leaders are made and not born should come to India.Anybody and Everybody who is born in a political family in India is a leader and an election ticket is reserved for him the day he/she is born. There are so many examples today where children of political leaders have joined politics.Sanjay dutt, priya dutt, depender hooda(son of haryana CM),supriya(daughter of sharad pawar),akhilesh(son of mulayam),udhav(son of bal thackrey) and ever green gandhi family heir Rahul gandhi.Perhaps the worst part of this situation is how easy it is for these people to get elected when people like Manmohan singh find it hard to win elections in India and its not because they have good agendas. It is so only because voters in India have pledged their votes to parties no matter who the candidate is as long as he is related in some way or other to the party leader. What good has Sanjay dutt done in his life.He was a drug addict, under trial in criminal activities and has no family values. What can he add to Indian society???We the voters are solely responsible for present state of Indian democracy.First half of us dont bother voting and another half who do vote, dont bother whom they are voting.Even while investing in a company, a person does more research about the company than what he does before voting someone in power. All our leaders make us same promises during elections and follow same policies when in govt.No political party in India has any difference of policy regarding Economy,Corruption,Terrorism,Indo-Pak relations or World Politics. If they are not going to provide anything different to people of India in terms of how and what they want to achieve for India, what right do they have to form different political parties.I think election commission in India should make it a point to make forming a party a little more difficult. If a leader thinks that he doesn't want to join any political party to should be allowed to fight independently and not to form a party.Similarly anybody who has any blood relation to a living(and elected) political leader should not be allowed to contest elections from same party for at least 10 years until and unless the person in question has had a history of public service of note for years.Election Commission must think about some rules on these lines if not exactly the same to save Indian Democracy.

How does SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE hurt indian sentiments?

Slumdog Millionaire has been appreciated all over but guess who doesn't like it.Mr. Amitabh Bachan decided that the movie in question presents india in bad color.Anybody who has seen the movie would never say anything like that.Since the movie is not yet realesed in India,i hope Amitabh would not have seen it by now(i hope he doesn't buy pirated copies like me).The fact that there is a good chance that he has not seen the movie makes his criticism more unworthy.Everybody knows the condition of slums in india and as Mr. bachan has put it, if condition of slums is as poor anywhere else too as in India. He should move ahead and make a movie on slums of developed countries.Who stops him.The reality is that he simply doesn't have the guts because that does not make any commercial sense. All movies in his life have been outrightly commercial. What right does he have on lecturing other people in what to make and what not to make.He says that foriegners like India to be presented as poor and thats what sells there.Yes may be thats true but thats what you do here too.Bollywood makes sellable movies(most of them).Slumdog never shows that the lead character was ever concerned about his life style in slums. The movie show how people lead there life despite of all the shit around them without ever complaining.Movie never even mentions anything about living conditions in slums in India. It has been portrayed as it is and if somebody draws a conclusion that conditions in slums is not worth showing to others than he must try and improve the conditions according to his capabilities. We cant hide places in our country which are not worth showing to others. Why doesnt the people who have problems with slumdog complain, when each and every UN report shows how bad situaution of hunger, health.poverty and malnutrition in India is.Those reports too show the grim reality of their shining India. Please dont be shy of your own people.People in DHARAVI(slum in BOMBAY) are not ashamed of themselves. They try to live their lives with all the dignity that is possible under their living conditions.Stop feeling pity on them.Just help if you can.

what is the truth about SATYAM?

SATYAM is India's fourth largest IT company with over 50000 employees.Mr. Raju is saying that he cooked satyam's balance sheet to show more money as profits than what they actually had. Mr. Raju is saying that the company's assets are worth only 361 crores rupees as against the reported 5041 crore of rupees. Now the question is, if the company was never a 5000 crore worth of company from where did it pay the salaries to such large workforce. If the overall margin was only 3%-5% as against reported 20%-25%,how did they compete with companies like Infosys and TCS.Satyam was never short of business. They always had the clients from all over the world.Surely there is much more to this fraud than what Mr. Raju has reported. We should not rule out probable mismanagement of money. There is a strong possibility that SATYAM's money was used for personnel benefits by Mr. Raju.He might have invested the money in his son's business.Govt. really has to be proactive in this case as the clients all over the world are watching with keen interest. We cant drag the investigations forever.Decisions have to be quick and well targeted because here its not only the image of the IT sector of India that is at stake but the future of about 50000 employees is at stake too. This fraud is going to impact the image of corporate India big time.We really have to come clean as soon as possible by punishing the culprits.
